N C C (National Cadet Corps)

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is a youth development movement in India. It is a tri-services organization comprising the Army, Navy, and Air Force wings, which aims to develop discipline, leadership, and patriotism among young citizens.

  • The NCC was formed in 1948, soon after India’s independence.

  • It evolved from the University Corps (set up in 1917) and later the University Training Corps (UTC).

  • The NCC Act was enacted in 1948, formally establishing the organization.

  • Open to school and college students.

  • There are two main divisions:

    1. Junior Division (JD) / Junior Wing (JW) – For school students (Classes 8–10).

Senior Division (SD) / Senior Wing (SW) – For college/university students.

Training and Activities

  • Drill and Parade

  • Weapon Training

  • Adventure Camps (trekking, rock climbing, parasailing)

  • Social Service (blood donation, disaster relief, tree planting)

  • Republic Day Camp (RDC) & Thal Sainik Camp (TSC)

  • Youth Exchange Programs (YEP) with other countries.

🪖 NCC Certificates

  1. Certificate A – For Junior Division/Wing cadets.

  2. Certificate B – For Senior Division/Wing (after one year of training).

  3. Certificate C – Highest level, awarded after two years of training in Senior Division/Wing.
